Colourful Barrels

Colourful Barrels

Last week we saw a lot of swell rolling through to the east coast, which gave me a perfect opportunity to get into some colourful barrels with the camera. Last weeks swell lasted up until the end of Sunday which meant that everybody should have got their fill of waves over the weekend. Check out the Gallery to see if you were spotted in the water here.

I love the challenge of taking photos of waves and trying to make each shot individual.  Every wave is different however sometimes they can all tend to be the same colour so I’ve been out at different times of the day and different breaks trying to capture a mix of colourful barrels to show you below.

This week we’ve seen the start of the Australian Open of Surfing taking place in Manly NSW, which has been heating up day by day and heat by heat. Round 3 has kicked off in rather messy 3ft wind swell, but the pro’s are all up to the challenge by the looks of it. If you can’t make it down to the beach make sure you catch all the action on live Webcast here.

Elsewhere on the Northern beaches the waves have been a peaky 2 to 3ft, with a lot of chop on the water. This is set to stick around at least until the weekend so watch the forecast for further details. Special thanks to Coastalwatch for putting on a ‘Intro to Surf Forecasting’ last night in Manly – Well worth the time spent.

See you in the water

Neil 😉
